British War Medal; Victory Medal 1914-19: (Born and enlisted Canterbury, Kent: The son of William and Charlotte Ells of 11 Watling Street, Canterbury: Died of wounds at Whalley Military Hospital, Lancashire: A former pupil of of the Payne-Smith and St.Mary Bredin's Schools, he had enlisted in August 1917: Sent to France in April 1918 and severely wounded in in the neck and shoulder on 22 August 1918: He was invalided to England but died of his wounds in hospital on 30 August 1918. He was just 19 years of age at the time of his death.
