1914/15 Star; British War Medal; Victory Medal 1914-19 (Lieut.:RNR.); Memorial Plaque: (WALTER RANDALL TILLING - Born 4 February 1882, the son of Alderman George John Tilling and Agnes Fannie Tilling of St Andrews, Wilton Road, Shirley, Southampton: Appointed Sub-Lieutenant, RNR.,16 November 1907: Promoted Lieutenant 7 June 1912 (London Gazette of 23 August 1912): Served in HMS.'Kent' from 3 October 1914 and would have been present at the Battle of the Falklands on 8 December 1914 when 'Kent' pursued and sank the German Cruiser 'Nurnberg': Transferred into HMS.'Hyacinth', 1 August 1916: Whilst serving in German East Africa he suffered a complete breakdown in health and was invalided home to England: He was placed on restricted duties and posted to the shore station, HMS.'Excellent' He died at Royal Naval Hospital on 20 October 1918 and is buried at Southampton Old Cemetery.)
